In the heart of the Valpantena, just a few kilometres from Verona, the Grezzana area offers an authentic and sustainable way to experience nature: walking, cycling and letting yourself be guided by ancient paths, woods, hamlets and views over the Veronese hills.
The network includes walking routes, with options suitable for families, more challenging trails and routes designed for expert . Signposting helps you find your way along the route: orange signs indicate walking routes, whilst blue ones are for cycling routes.
The routes take visitors on a journey of discovery through an area rich in diverse environments. From the woods along the ridge to the ancient hamlets, from natural canyons to cultivated hills, each route offers a unique perspective on the landscape of Grezzana.
The most accessible routes: nature and history for the whole family
For those looking for a pleasant stroll without tackling routes that are too long, certain routes are an excellent starting point.
Route A3 – The Ridge Woodlands, 3.5 kilometres long with a 150-metre elevation gain, allows you to immerse yourself in the wooded landscape of the hills. Route A4 – The hamlets of Alcenago, 4.5 kilometres long with a 130-metre elevation gain, combines the beauty of the landscape with the chance to explore the area’s historic settlements.
Route A6 – From Stallavena to the Torre del Falasco, 3.8 kilometres long with a modest elevation gain of 90 metres: a route suitable for those wishing to spend a few hours in the open air without missing out on the views and features of the local landscape.
Another of the shorter routes is Route D4 – From Azzago to Monte Santa Viola, covering 5.5 kilometres with a 240-metre elevation gain, ideal for exploring one of the area’s most characteristic hilly landscapes.
Woods, ancient hamlets and rural landscapes
One of the most fascinating features of Grezzana’s trails is the opportunity to pass through natural and rural environments that remain deeply rooted in local history.
Route A2 – Woods and ancient hamlets in the hills of Grezzana stretches for 9 kilometres, with a 425-metre elevation gain, and offers a journey through nature and the area’s history.
Route A5 – The Sengie of Lugo, 4.4 kilometres long with a 280-metre elevation gain, leads you to discover a unique and evocative setting, whilst Route B4 – Corrubio and La Pernisa, 6 kilometres long with a 250-metre elevation gain, offers a route through hilly landscapes and characteristic spots in the hamlets.
For those seeking a longer hike, Route C2 – The Ridge between San Micheletto and Rosaro stretches for 8.5 kilometres with a 400-metre elevation gain, offering an immersive experience along the trails and amidst the panoramic views of the hills.
The Valpantena Canyon and the Grezzana Mountains
One of the most picturesque routes is Route B2 – The Valpantena Canyon, which is 7.3 kilometres long and has an elevation gain of 300 metres. The route offers views of one of the area’s most spectacular features, where the landscape’s topography creates natural environments of great interest.
For those seeking a greater challenge, Route B3 – The Ridge Towards the Mountain is 8.7 kilometres long and has an elevation gain of 470 metres. It is a route designed for those who enjoy walking in a wilder environment and tackling climbs that offer increasingly sweeping views.
Route D3 – Monte Castello Loop, covering 7.7 kilometres with a 300-metre elevation gain, also offers a wonderful opportunity to explore the mountainous and hilly landscape of the municipality of Grezzana.
There is no single way to visit Grezzana: you can choose a short, relaxing stroll, a day dedicated to trekking, or a more challenging route for those who love hills and panoramic views.
The network of trails is designed to help visitors get to know the area and showcase its hamlets, offering an experience of slow, sustainable tourism. The local council has also carried out work to enhance and make the trails safer, with new information boards offering panoramic views and rest areas along the routes.
