Giocaia Wines

BETWEEN TRADITION AND TECHNICAL INNOVATION

We are Jacopo and Giovanni, brothers with the mission to create high-quality wines capable of expressing and respecting a terroir. Every bottle we produce narrates the story of our commitment and deep connection to our land.

ABOUT US

Giocaia was born in 2015 as a result of our deep connection with our family roots and our desire to restore the land that belonged to our predecessors back to its ancient armony. Our approach to agriculture is a fusion of Italian agricultural traditions and the recent technical innovations. Right from the beginning, we embarked on this exciting journey towards organic certification, completed in 2019. A journey filled with experiences from daily life, honest dialogue with the land, and deep respect for everything that grows on it.

OUR WINES

IL BASE
Subtle red, tending towards ruby-red, shiny. Notes of sour cherry, blackcurrant, pomegranate, and citrus, alongside spicy hints reminiscent of white pepper. Pleasant herbal notes appear in the
bouquet, with hints of marjoram and balsamic aromas of mint. The entry to the palate is assertive, savory, with pronounced acidity that imparts freshness and elegance to the wine. The tannin is velvety and soft. On the aftertaste, a distinct cherry note emerges, and the citrusy hints return.
Grape and origin Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella – Monte Preafitta.

VALPOLICELLA SUPERIORE
Intense red color with shades reminiscent of ruby. On the nose, it reveals powerful notes of spices and red fruits like cherries and sour cherries, that blend with the characteristic balsamic notes of this wine. On the palate is full, generous with pronounced acidity and salinity that enhances its mineral components. A
complex, elegant, and extremely vertical wine. Harvest takes place between the third week of September and early October, in two stages.

Grape and origin Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara, Croatina and Oseleta – Monte Preafitta.

AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA

Intense ruby-red, tending towards garnet. Hints of red fruits stand out, including sour cherries and cherries in spirits, which blend with notes of vanilla, caramel, licorice, leather, and cocoa.
We also encounter aromas of brushwood and cedarwood. Assertive upon entry, it reveals fullness, salinity, body, persistence, with a lively tannin. In the aftersmell, notes of dried fruits such as fig, apricot, and hazelnut appear, along with spiced hints of green pepper and chocolate.

Grape and origin Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara, Croatina and Oseleta – Monte Preafitta

PILOTON- ROSSO VENETO I.G.T.
Garnet-red in color, deep and impenetrable. Pronounced notes of ripe red fruit like blackberry, blueberry and wild strawberry. We then encounter spices like tobacco, leather and hints of balsamic notes of alpine herbs. Wide taste in the beginning, persistent, the soft tannin meets the minerality and the width that the basaltic soil imparts to this wine. Manual harvest in two stages between August and September. The vineyards are located just below the megalith, called ‘Piloton’, from which the wine takes its name.

Grape and origin Merlot, Oseleta, and Cabernet Sauvignon – Monte Preafitta.
