Special evenings combining fine dining and tradition
AT THE VALPOLICELLA RESTAURANT
“An Evening with Peas”: the taste of Veronese tradition
Every Friday in May and June, the restaurant invites guests to rediscover one of the most iconic ingredients of local cuisine: peas. This has given rise to “An Evening with Peas”, a culinary journey that creatively reinterprets traditional Veronese recipes.
The menu offers a complete culinary journey: it begins with a pea and Monte Veronese flan, accompanied by confit cherry tomatoes and basil, followed by an Amarone risotto enhanced with “bisi in tecia”. There is also suckling pig fillet with pistachios and pea purée, leading up to an original dessert combining white chocolate and peas. All accompanied by water, coffee and paired wines.
The experience is offered at a special price of €35 at 8.00 pm (instead of €45), providing an affordable opportunity to discover new pairings and flavours.
“Amarone Meets the Table”: elegance and intensity
The Valpolicella restaurant also dedicates space to one of the region’s most prestigious wines: Amarone. Thus was born the “Amarone Meets the Table” series, scheduled every Thursday evening between May and June.
This evening features a rich and structured menu, designed to highlight the character of the famous Veronese wine. Standout dishes include Venetian scottona beef tagliata, Amarone risotto and paired desserts, all accompanied by selected wines.
Here too, the experience is offered at €35
Le Sirese: the taste of summer on your plate
Valpolicella cherries, known locally as ‘sirese’, take centre stage in a gourmet evening designed to celebrate one of the region’s iconic fruits, taking place every Wednesday evening in June.
A four-course menu takes guests on a journey through traditional flavours and surprising combinations, where the sweetness and vibrancy of the cherries meet carefully selected ingredients and local culinary techniques.
The culinary journey begins with a starter of sopressa and cherry mostarda, followed by mountain-style gnocchi with smoked ricotta and sour cherries. The main course features a fillet of suckling pig served with a ruby-red sirese sauce, whilst dessert rounds off the evening with a farmer’s meringue served with ice cream, elderflower and cherries.
The experience includes water, coffee and a glass of wine carefully paired with each course to enhance every nuance of the menu.
A dinner that celebrates the aromas, colours and flavours of Valpolicella through one of its most beloved products.
Price: €35 instead of €44.
The Vecchia Birreria Valpo: Friday Nights Like They Used to Be
Every Friday night in July and August (except August 21st), the venue transforms into a typical village pub, bringing the traditional flavors and welcoming atmosphere of old-time taverns to the table.
Starting at 8:00 PM, guests can choose from a rich menu created to accompany the finest house beers.
The appetizer features the Gran Fritto dell'Oste (Oste's Great Fried Fish) in beer batter with sage, onion rings, and crispy zucchini, served with hot gnocco fritto (fried dumplings) and local bacon.
For the first course, choose between fresh egg tagliatelle with traditional ragù or with San Marzano tomatoes and basil.
Main courses include slow-cooked and glazed grilled pork ribs, or roast leg with aromatic herbs and apples.
To round out the dinner, enjoy a warm apple strudel with vanilla ice cream or a beer sorbet with mint and lemon.
The price includes water, coffee, and two small beers of your choice; alternatively, you can opt for a quart of house wine.
Participation fee: €35 instead of €44.
