B&B Ca' Tognella
SINCE 1796 REFRESHMENT FOR DISTANT TRAVELLERS.
‘Imagine walking through the doors of B&B Ca Tognella and being transported back in time, to the 1700s, when these very walls housed a flour storehouse. This place, once essential to the region's rural economy, collected the fruits of local farmers' labour and fed local families. Today, in the patronal hall, you can admire original stones and river stones that silently tell of this laborious past. We wanted to keep these features as a tribute to the simple and genuine life of the past, creating a tangible link between past and present.’
‘Over the centuries, Ca Tognella became a cosy refuge for travellers and businessmen passing through the region on horseback. Its strategic location between Verona, Lake Garda and Valpolicella made it an ideal stopping place. Imagine those times, with carriages stopping in the courtyard and travellers resting in the rooms that have now been completely renovated, but which retain the cosy atmosphere of yesteryear. During the renovation, we found old objects and utensils that now adorn the rooms, evoking that sense of welcome and hospitality that has always characterised this place.’
‘Ca Tognella was not only a resting place for travellers, but also a place where businessmen found rest and refreshment. Stories tell of business negotiations concluded in the warmth of the hearth and of long journeys interrupted for a night's rest in simple but comfortable rooms. We wanted to preserve this atmosphere of intimacy and cosiness in our renovation. The rooms, with their beamed ceilings and wooden floors, recall the original rustic aesthetic, but with all the modern comforts. Every detail, from the choice of period furniture to the natural fabrics, has been designed to make guests feel as if they are part of a centuries-old story, a tale of hospitality handed down from generation to generation.’
B&B Ca Tognella offers its guests a warm welcome and personalised service, guaranteeing an unforgettable experience. Situated within walking distance of the city's main attractions, such as the Arena of Verona and Juliet's House, it is the ideal starting point for exploring the historical and cultural sights of the city, and the nature and beauty of Valpolicella and Lessinia.
The newly built and recently renovated hotel combines the charm of historic Veronese architecture with modern comforts. The large rooms, furnished with taste and attention to detail, offer a cosy and relaxing environment. Every morning, our guests can enjoy a homemade breakfast, prepared with fresh, local ingredients of the highest quality. It is served on a spacious and beautiful terrace with panoramic views of the Valpolicella.
The rooms all have a private en-suite bathroom with all amenities, such as complimentary toiletries, hairdryer, walk-in shower linen and bidet
At Ca' Tognella, we offer not only a place to sleep, but also the chance to enjoy authentic experiences. We collaborate with local guides to organise exclusive tours and wine tastings of the region, offering our guests a complete immersion in Veronese culture and traditions.
Thanks to its central location, the B&B is easily accessible from the railway station and well connected by public transport. Moreover, the proximity to numerous restaurants, shops and clubs makes the stay even more pleasant and comfortable for tourists.
